Our commitment
The Black Lineage & Heritage Institute, Inc. ("the Institute", "we", "our") treats the privacy of visitors, members, and contributing families with the same seriousness we bring to the historical record itself.
Information we collect
When you visit the site, we may collect standard technical information such as your browser type and pages visited to operate the site securely. When you create an account, we collect your email address, the name you provide, and account activity. When you voluntarily submit family stories, records, or research materials, we collect what you choose to share.
How we use information
We use information solely to operate the Institute's work: to authenticate you, to communicate with you about programs you have opted into, and to steward the historical materials you entrust to us.
Family-contributed materials
Family stories, photographs, documents, and other contributed materials remain the property of the contributing family. Nothing you submit is published publicly without your explicit, documented consent.
Security
Account data and contributed materials are stored on secure infrastructure with access controls appropriate to the sensitivity of the material.
Your rights
You may request to review, correct, export, or delete your personal information and any materials you have contributed. When contact routing is activated, requests may be sent to info@BlackLineageInstitute.com.
Changes
As the Institute's programs expand, this policy will be updated. Substantive changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
